What to Expect When Getting a Tooth Filling

1. Dr. Vo will examine your tooth and take digital x-rays to determine the extent of decay. She'll share the images to explain her findings and why we recommend treatment.
2. Next, we help you choose a shade for the composite that closely matches your tooth enamel.
3. We numb the tooth so you won’t feel any pain, and  Dr. Vo carefully removes the decayed portion of the tooth, preserving as much healthy structure as possible.
4. The area is thoroughly cleaned, then Dr. Vo carefully layers the material into the prepared space, shapes it to match the tooth’s contours, and hardens it with a special light.
5. The final steps include adjustments and polishing the material to match the sheen of tooth enamel.
