Dr. Kimcuc Vo
Dr. Kimcuc Vo’s path to becoming a dentist is one of extraordinary perseverance and passion. Born and raised in Vietnam, Dr. Vo dreamed of working in healthcare, but her journey was far from straightforward. After completing high school in 1986, political circumstances made it impossible for her to pursue her passion. However, she and her family, determined to seek a better future, embarked on a life-changing escape from Vietnam.
After fleeing Vietnam in 1989 and moving to Houston, Dr. Vo held on to her passion for dentistry. Determined to succeed, she overcame the language barrier, attending Tarrant Community College and then completing her pre-requisites at UT Arlington. In 1993, Dr. Vo was accepted into the prestigious Texas A&M Baylor School of Dentistry and graduated in 1997 as a board-certified Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
After working in private dental offices in the area for several years, she achieved her dream and opened her own dental practice, Dentist at Rock Creek, in 2015. With the support of her husband, kids, staff, and her loyal patients, she grew a well-advanced, highly recommended practice.
Shannon Korczynki, RDH, CBDH, CNHP
Registered Dental Hygienist
Shannon brings more than 40 years of experience in dentistry and has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1994. Throughout her career, she has practiced in pediatric, orthodontic, general, biological, indigent, and HIV community dentistry, experiences that have shaped her belief that every patient deserves compassionate, personalized care.
As a Certified Biological Dental Hygienist (CBDH) and Certified Natural Health Practitioner (CNHP), Shannon has advanced training in biological dentistry, airway-focused dentistry, and Electroacupuncture According to Voll (EAV). She is committed to lifelong learning and continues to expand her knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine, cell salts, and cellular health.
Known for her thoughtful and analytical approach, Shannon enjoys evaluating health from multiple perspectives. She believes the mouth provides valuable insights into overall health and that lasting wellness begins with understanding the whole person, not just their teeth. Her goal is to educate and empower patients so they can make informed decisions that support both their oral health and overall well-being.
Outside the office, Shannon enjoys traveling, with a special love for France, which she has visited seven times. She also treasures time with her husband, David, their three grown stepchildren, and their Labrador Retrievers. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, painting, and discovering the history, culture, and local cuisine of the places she visits.
Fun Fact: Shannon has traveled to France seven times, and she's already planning her next adventure.
Shams
Treatment Coordinator/Registered Dental Assistant
As our treatment plan coordinator and dental assistant, Shams plays a vital role in helping patients understand and achieve their oral health goals. With her background in biology and business administration, she brings a unique blend of knowledge and practical expertise to her position. Since joining the dental field in 2020, she has dedicated herself to making dental care more accessible and understandable for every patient.
Shams's passion for dentistry extends beyond her current role. She aspires to become a dentist and brings that dedication daily to her work. She takes pride in explaining treatment options, helping patients navigate insurance considerations, and ensuring they feel confident about their dental care decisions. Her favorite part of the job is seeing patients leave with a thorough understanding of their oral health and a clear path forward.
Outside the office, Shams enjoys an active and creative lifestyle. She's an avid soccer enthusiast, whether playing or watching matches, and expresses her artistic side through drawing. She also brings a unique cultural perspective to our team through her talent playing the tabla, a traditional Arabic drum. Her love for travel and learning about different cultures helps her connect with our diverse patient family and contribute to our welcoming office environment.
Jovi
Front Desk/Registered Dental Assistant
When you visit Dentist at Rock Creek, Jovi's warm smile is often the first thing you'll see. As our front desk coordinator, she expertly manages our schedule to ensure every patient receives the time and attention they deserve while occasionally assisting with clinical duties. A lifelong learner, Jovi completed her dental assisting program online, adding clinical expertise to her administrative capabilities. This comprehensive understanding of dental care helps her better serve our patients and support our clinical team.
Jovi joined our team in 2024, bringing a genuine passion for healthcare. Her decision to pursue dentistry stemmed from a desire to positively impact others' lives, and she lives this commitment every day. While managing schedules and coordinating patient care keeps her busy, Jovi particularly enjoys the personal connections she makes with our patients. She loves hearing their stories and learning about their interests, helping to create the welcoming, comfortable atmosphere our practice is known for.
Outside the office, Jovi expresses her creative side by crafting beautiful cheese charcuterie boards and enjoys unwinding with movies and games. One fact most people don’t know about Jovi is that she played the violin for 10 years!
